Join the fun in our Escape Room during International Museum Day! 507 years ago Ferdinand Magellan arrived in Seville from Portugal. His intention was to gain the favour of the King of Spain, Charles I, to carry out a great enterprise: to reach a new route to the Spice Islands, always travelling westwards. Today we will go back in time and become the crew of that expedition.
We will have to overcome a series of trials to achieve our goal: to get the spices and bring them to Seville, sailing around the world, a feat that Juan Sebastián Elcano would achieve. In order to do this, it is necessary to go through a series of clues that we will discover little by little by solving the different tests that we will find on our journey. You have to be very attentive and have all 5 senses awake.
The group of participants will be accompanied by one of our museum educators.

Discover the permanent exhibition on the voyage that culminated in the First Round the World Voyage, which pays tribute to man's spirit of exploration: his attitude towards the unknown, his constant desire to travel further and further, towards the frontiers of knowledge. Through audiovisuals, scenographies and facsimiles you can discover the origins, protagonists and main events of this historic voyage and its impact on history.
A few metres from the exhibition, the Nao Victoria 500 is moored, a symbol of the human being's attitude to the frontier and the challenges of exploration. You will be able to climb aboard and tour the decks of what was once the most advanced vessel of its time and is, today, a great symbol of innovation and the great voyagers of exploration.
OPENING HOURS:
- From Monday to Sunday from 10.00 am to 8.00 pm
60 minutes before closing time will be the last chance to buy your tickets.

In collaboration with the Archivo General de Indias, we will explore documents that reveal the rich historical heritage of the Americas over four centuries. The Archive of the Indies is an invaluable source of information on maritime expeditions, passengers to the Indies, the fleets of the Race of the Indies and a multitude of aspects related to society, culture, economy and life in general in the Americas during these historical periods. Every year, hundreds of researchers from all over the world come to the Archivo de Indias to explore its vast collection of documents, ranging from accounting records to personal letters and detailed descriptions. This year, we are privileged to share a selection of documents related to Andalusia and the first round-the-world voyage, providing a unique insight into this crucial historical moment.
